IWKU Open 2011

Our traditional championships was held at the same place as before at the gym of RSZKK with the participation of 146 competitors. Excellent fights could be followed in all kategories and ages. According to the view of Sensei Shibamori the standard of the athletes is higher from year to year.

Although we continuously make efforts to maintain our international wado relationships, except the Irish and British delegation no foreign teams attended this event due to their difficulties because of the crisis and other matters. We were pleased that the EWSKA team was represented by very good and talented athletes. Clayton Murrain said during the competition that for him the fight with the Hungarian athletes means the wado-ryu world championships.

The IWKU Open served as great stage for 23 adult athletes of the Hungarian team to be sent to the WUKF Senior and Veteran World Championships.
