On 14 February 2009 a Hungarian team of 6 took part on the international championships orgainzed by EWSKA in Birmingham, Great Britain. British, Irish and Italian teams also attended the competition on which the 6 Hungarian competitors did very well as they got altogether 8 medals. In the kata kategories only the Italian gojo-ryu karatekas could successfully beat the Hungarians.
